Tofu making demonstrations and classes are a big part of what we do. Whether it's an observational demo at a market or an actual cooking class, we have it covered. FULLsome has done small 4 - 5 people demos at the Barn Owl Café and Home Slice Café in the KZN Midlands, and at Brik Café in Johannesburg. Our biggest class was teaching 21 second year students at the 1000 Hills Chef's School to make tofu, wrapping up with a Master Chef cook off to produce the most tasty and attractive tofu dish. FULLsome also teaches online using Whatsapp video calls, Zoom and Skype.
If you are keen on learning to make tofu, please drop us a line to discuss your needs. It's a great alternative to book club night :)
What We Cover
Short Demo: In a short one hour demo we will take people through the process of coagulating soy mylk, pressing the tofu and often end off by making fresh spring rolls with the warm tofu.
Full Length Demo: In a full length demo, the class is more hands on and participants will experience the full process which includes making soy mylk from the soaked beans, and then moving into coagulation and pressing.
What does it cost?
The cost is relative to where you would like the tofu demo to take place, as travel is factored in to the equation. Thereafter, the cost is R150 per person, and if people would like to purchase a tofu making kit after the class, that is an additional R650.
Online classes are R150 per person.
